October 19, 2026 – A Busy Fall Underway

The past few months have been filled with exciting opportunities and meaningful experiences! While being busy running Outreach Humanity help the unserved communities of Missouri, I have also continued working as an ophthalmic technician, gaining valuable hands-on clinical experience while traveling to rural communities to help provide care. This role has allowed me to interact directly with patients, develop my clinical skills, and gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of accessible healthcare, especially in underserved areas. On the research side, I recently reached an exciting milestone by submitting my first first-author manuscript for publication, based on my liver quantification research at Washington University in St. Louis. It has been incredibly rewarding to see the work and dedication put into this project come together. Additionally, I enrolled in a human anatomy class at my local university to gain additional knowledge on the anatomy of the human body. At the same time, I am in the middle of the medical school application process, including attending interviews. While balancing clinical work, research, and applications has kept me busy, each experience has reinforced my passion for medicine and my excitement for what lies ahead.

I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far and look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and take the next steps toward becoming a physician!
